Tessa & The Tessa Foundation in the Media.
Chris Brown, Shark Researcher.
In 2007, shark researcher Chris Brown
was asked to assist with research involving Tessa's incident for a segment on Discovery Channel's "Shark Week". During his initial
investigation, and throughout his ongoing work, Chris has found controversial information
regarding the shark species involved/reported, media sensationalism ("Summer of the Shark"), and political descepancies (due to black market finning).
From the start, Chris has spent countless hours dedicated to supporting Kristena Prater's efforts in raising awareness of Tessa's plight and the search for real answers regarding the attack that immortalized her to the Tongan people. He has also spearheaded an effort with Kristena to present evidence (based on his research) that serves to answer the questions surrounding Tessa's death, and promotes the conservation of the shark species targeted by the media and the pro-finning countries that influenced Tonga's government and media.
Chris Brown is an independent shark researcher, conversationalist, and educator from Ontario, Canada.
He has worked closely with World-leading scientists and shark experts all over North America for the past decade.
Whether it's tagging Great White Sharks in the cold waters off the coast of California, diving with bull sharks in the warm waters off Florida, or simply educating remote, East Coast Canadian communities about the shark fishery, Chris' passion for shark conservation for the benefit of our planet is evident.

My Heroine
My hero is my big sister Tessa. I love her with all my heart and she’s always there for me, she is my sunshine, my faith, she is my sister and I will always love her.
A hero is someone who makes you happy and lets you be your true self. A hero is also someone who saves the day and a hero is someone who is nice and a hero is someone that makes you laugh. A hero is a great person. Everyone can be a hero. You can be one too. Everyone has a hero, don’t take advantage of that fact,
Destiny.
